SGE was created to redefine how nuclear energy infrastructure is built, financed, and deployed. Our mission is to deliver energy that is safe, reliable, clean, affordable, and scalable, through a model that makes next-generation nuclear technology investable and commercially sustainable across Europe and beyond.
At the heart of our platform lies a simple idea: proven technology combined with a disruptive deployment process. By standardizing design and delivering reactors through a fleet approach, we unlock efficiency, shorten timelines, reduce risk, and create a predictable pathway for investors.
Our journey started in 2019, when Michał Sołowow, one of Europe’s leading industrial entrepreneurs, signed a landmark agreement with GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy for the development and deployment of the BWRX-300 small modular reactor. This was the first such agreement signed by GE Hitachi worldwide and marked Poland’s entry into the forefront of next-generation nuclear energy.
Soon after, SGE became GE Hitachi’s deployment partner in Poland for the deployment of the BWRX-300, establishing the foundation for the first fleet-scale SMR program in Europe.
The BWRX-300 represents world-class nuclear technology built on decades of operating experience. It is a trusted, secure, and rigorously tested reactor design, combining the highest safety standards with competitive economics and rapid deployment capability.
What makes our model unique is not only the technology, but the way we deploy it. Through a fleet approach, building multiple reactors as a single, coordinated program, we transform nuclear construction into an industrial process that improves efficiency, scalability, and capital predictability.
A defining milestone in our strategy was the creation of ORLEN Synthos Green Energy OSGE, a joint venture with ORLEN, the largest energy company in Central and Eastern Europe. Together, we are advancing the first European fleet of BWRX-300 reactors, with the first unit expected to deliver electricity to the grid in the first half of 2030s.
Poland became the first country in Europe to launch a SMR fleet deployment program.
SGE is building a regional deployment and investment platform for next-generation nuclear infrastructure. We have signed strategic agreements to advance SMR projects in Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Lithuania, creating a growing network of reference markets across Central and Eastern Europe, and we are working with more countries to start additional projects.
Our role extends beyond development: we integrate technology, financing, construction and operations into a single coordinated framework, making advanced nuclear energy accessible to new markets and investors.
The BWRX-300 SMR has been selected by experienced nuclear utilities in Canada and the United States, with the first commercial unit scheduled to begin operation in Darlington in 2030, a global reference project for our European program.
Our international cooperation continue to expand, including collaboration with Samsung C&T, Orano, Ontario Power Generation, Tennessee Valley Authority, Exim Bank, the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, and others, to accelerate the rollout of SMRs in Europe and beyond.
